The Client

 

The overall aim of Weight Aware UK is to become the first web based search directory of UK practitioners (counsellors and nutritionists) who are able to assist in the treatment and ongoing prevention of childhood obesity issues.

 

It is Weight Aware UK’s business objective for all schools, libraries and children’s centres across the UK to advocate the use of the Weight Aware UK directory and in their marketing campaign they are in discussion with the local PCT groups, local school learning partnerships and local children centres.

 

It’s Weight Aware UK’s goal that every parent who ever considers childhood obesity to be an issue within their family will have immediate access, via the Weight Aware UK directory, to all of their local practitioners.

 

The Campaign

 

As a new start up business, Weight Aware UK initially approached The Telemarketing Company looking for advice about telemarketing and the best way to approach a campaign.  Their main campaign objective was to gain knowledge into how much interest could be conjured up in terms of practitioners around the country and how many prospective clients would give them an expression of interest in joining the directory.  Weight Aware UK believed that once a practitioner had given them an expression of interest they would be able to encourage them to join. 

 

Initially Weight Aware UK were looking into the best way to approach this and were particularly impressed with our free trial option.  The MD from Weight Aware UK talks to us below:

 

“Prior to contacting The Telemarketing Company, I’d spoken to 4 or 5 various companies about conducting an initial telemarketing campaign for Weight Aware UK Ltd and I had received a range of price structures together with varying advice on the best way forward.  However, during my initial conversation with The Telemarketing Company, I was offered a ‘trial’ call period of 1 hour free of charge to get an idea of the success rate and general feedback of the ‘trial’ calling response.  It was suggested that this session would be offered without further obligation which was a very attractive and certainly prudent proposal.

 

After (a very successful) trial calling period and once we had decided to use The Telemarketing Company for our initial campaign, I had a number of telephone conversations with Angus Thwaites and Mik Johnson before visiting The Telemarketing Company offices in Brighton for a meet and greet appointment. 

 

I was very impressed with the professional manner in which The Telemarketing Company present themselves both in terms of their in-house technology and sizeable office arena. I was made to feel very comfortable and any questions that I had were either answered within the body of our discussion or once I’d had the opportunity to review first hand the operation of the telemarketing campaign for Weight Aware UK.”

The MD from Weight Aware UK talks to us below about their experience during the running of the campaign and the results acheived:

 

“I have received a campaign report from The Telemarketing Company on a daily basis, together with an occasional telephone update, exactly as was described during our initial project discussions.  I have also received a collated weekly report which I’ve been able to embed into the internal operations of the business very quickly and easily.

 

The results of my telemarketing campaign have been excellent, certainly exceeding initial expectation.  The campaign was slightly distinctive in that The Telemarketing Company were requested to keep an avid eye on 2 separate groups of clients during the campaign to ensure that if one group started to net lower results we could concentrate on the other group.  This request was implemented with the usual professional, efficient and pleasant manner which became the norm for The Telemarketing Company.

 

The campaign has enabled Weight Aware UK Ltd to build up a very large, very specific database of relevant and potential clients from which we can pinpoint as our absolute customer base.
